Copywriting
A good
copywriter knows which words
trigger the feelings that compel people to make decisions. They write with
flair, making it easy for people to be drawn into what they are saying about
your business, services or products - see

Questions and answers to procedures that we undertake on your behalf to optimize your Australian
website for high rankings in
Google™ &
Yahoo™.
Q 1. How do you perform search engine optimization of my website?
A.. We begin by analysing your website and your products and services.
We also look at your previous efforts of performing
search engine optimization
(also called "search engine optimisation" in Australia).
Q 2 What are my chances of getting good rankings for Australian keywords and
phrases?
A. A detailed analysis of competing websites is performed after using your
chosen keywords. We look at the number of pages returned in the search
engine results pages, number of links from other websites and the
Google™ PageRank. That way, we can determine which key words and phrases are beatable in the
short term, and the ones to avoid as they are too difficult at present.
It is best to start with easier words and 3-4 word phrases at the start, as in
"bank finance investment project" and "Liverpool Real Estate", rather than trying
for one and two word keywords e.g. "Finance" or "Real Estate."
Q 3 Which are the best keywords to use?
A. Its no use trying to get ranked for keywords that aren't being searched
for. On the other hand, if people are actively searching for products and
services you are providing, then your main focus should be making sure you are
easy to find on the internet for those products and services. We research the
available data about which keyword phrases are being searched for in your
industry. We then report to you the phrases your customers and potential
customers are using when they search for products and services related to your
business and wait for your instructions.
Q 4 Which keywords are a priority?
A. We analyze all the information gathered in steps 1 to 3 and help you
create a list of search phrases to target. These phrases should be determined
based upon search frequency, the likelihood that the searchers are looking for
your products and services, and the amount of effort that would be required to
win for each phrase. A group of your best keywords in
order of priority would be developed from this list.
Q 5. What do I need to give you so you can start on my project?
A. To start planning your project (once we have agreed on the key
words/phrases) we need information to work on, such as word documents or
articles that have been created for your website so that we can input the right
density of keywords and make it search engine friendly through optimized coding.
The plan will include directions for creating
the content that your audience wants from you,
directions for creating a hierarchy of information, and will tell you exactly
how to restructure your website for optimal search engine effectiveness. It will
also include title tags, meta keyword tags, and meta description tags for
every page of your site, and formatting instructions for every
page, including rewritten or edited content.
Q 6. What search engines and directories should I list my site in?
A. We recommend that you permit us to submit your site to the three major
directories,
Google™, The Open Directory and
Yahoo™! They have free submissions, although
Yahoo has an express 7- Day Guarantee costing AUD$495.00 for a one time,
non-refundable fee. All of the free submissions are very worthwhile but
take some months to be indexed. We will also manually submit your site to
special interest directories which may also be of benefit to your business.
Q 7. Does linking to important websites work?
A. Only if they link back to you! Putting links onto your site to other
websites alone will do nothing for you, other than perhaps making it helpful to
your visitors. When other important websites have your link on your site
(especially using your strongest keywords), it counts as "votes" for your
website and adds link reputation. This lets
Google™ and other search
engines know that your site has been pointed out by a third party as being an
important source of information for those keywords/phrases. This will
increase your rankings, as the link strategies build more votes pointing to your
site.
Q 8. How will you perform linking strategies?
A. We will create a linking campaign soliciting webmasters of important
websites for links to your site on your behalf. This is NOT done by sending out
bulk emails at random, and will not include requests to any of your competitors.
We will personally communicate with webmasters of important sites that are
related to yours, and will ask for your assistance in the effort. The practise
of having links from important websites pointing keyword- rich anchor text to
your site is known to be very beneficial in terms of ranking, particularly in
Google™. You will also greatly benefit by sharing all of our links -currently
numbering over 100,000 in total at this time.
Q 9. How do know that everything is working?
A. Professional reports will be provided to you in a clear,
easy-to-understand format. These reports will be sent to you regularly,
showing you how
Google™ actually "sees" your website, indicating your website's
ranking in the major search engines for your target words and phrases, and
showing you how many other websites have linked back to yours. This will
benchmark your website's ranking status. Another test is "Googling" your optimal
search string, eg, if you have a pest control business on the Gold Coast, you
would search for "pest control Gold Coast" - if it comes up on the first page of results,
you're doing well!
Q 10. Are ranking results guaranteed?
A. No. Search Engine Guy Pty Ltd cannot guarantee specific search
engine rankings for your site as we do not have any control over the factors
which govern every search engine in ranking websites. We do, however,
guarantee to conform to guidelines of import search engines and directories,
such as the Google™ guidelines located on Google's™ website. Unscrupulous
companies sometimes hide the fact that their "results" are not from their own
efforts, but in fact they have been paying the highest price for search terms
within sponsored programmes. We can bid for your top terms in "pay for click" sponsored programmes such as
Google Adwords™ and
Overture™, using techniques that find the most valuable keywords
for you at the lowest possible price. These programmes are able to get you
listings quickly for your important keywords, and are based on bidding on popular
search terms, according to the highest bidder and how popular the ad is.
We always give you the best opportunity for creating high rankings within your
website using proven, ethical means such as building keyword rich content and
linking strategies.
Australian search engine optimization provides one of the best returns on
investment in comparison to most other forms of marketing. This can be
seen in the latest Australian Bureau of Verification Services (ABVS) figures,
which show online as the fastest growing media sector and paid search the
fastest growing of the online categories. According to it's latest survey, the
online market grew more than six times faster than the overall ad market to hit
$388 million in 2004.
