Copywriting
A good
copywriter knows which words
trigger the feelings that compel people to make decisions. They write with
flair, making it easy for people to be drawn into what they are saying about
your business, services or products - see
professional copywriting,
and an example of good copywriting for a
Mercedes Dealer, or not-so-good copy for a
Used Mercedes dealer.
Directories
You should add your website to as many directories as you can. Check out our
free

business directories.

The majority of the links you receive from other websites will be linking
directly to your home page - or the root of your website.
However, it is also
very important for your
search engine optimisation strategy
to build up what is referred to as "
deep links", or "deeplinks". That is, links
that lead to pages in your site other than your home page.
Using
justweb™ as an example, one of the services we provide is
website auditing.
Linking to the home page from another site (which mentions audits) is ok, but
Google sees the link as being far more relevant (and ergo important) if it links to a
WHOLE PAGE about website auditing, rather than one that simply mentions it in
passing.
It is also logical to conclude that Google's algorithm would see it as
unnatural
if it finds too many links to the home page, and few (if any) deep links.
There are a great number of effective, easy and inexpensive ways to build up
deep links.
You can use social book marking sites such as del.icio.us, Digg, Twitter,
Facebook, Stumbleupon and many others to provide valuable links back to your
pages, particularly if they may be of interest or help to others who will read
them.
For example, if you are a website
designer, you may choose to write an article on why websites should be
constructed to comply with
W3C standards, then link to
it using some of the
websites mentioned.
Also
strongly recommended is to register your website with a business directory which allows you to deep
link. A lot of business directories, particularly the ones offering free
listings, restrict you to one link only - usually to your home page.
There are some, however, very useful directories that allow you to insert
multiple links in your listing page or pages. These may often be referred to as
"
deep link directories".
One such directory is
clickfind™. Not only does
clickfind™ allow you to deep link,
but it allows you to populate your listing with a page for each of your products
and/or services - and use anchor text links back to the relevant page in your
website.
Anchor text is where you use relevant words to link back to a page or site,
rather than a URL.
It costs only $19.95 per month to list, and that is quite inexpensive when you
see what you get for your money - particularly when you consider what other
similar directories charge.
justweb™ is on
clickfind™ and it is one of the ways this
website
manages to do so well in Google.
