SEO

Search Engine Optimisation (Search Engine Optimisation)
Statistics show us that more than 80% of traffic from search engines comes from organic results. Basically, unless you are on the first page of Google™, regardless if you have a PPC strategy, your website may not be performing to it's full potential. Talk to us today about web site optimisation, SEO, and how we can improve your organic search engine optimisation with proven website seo.

Copywriting

Website Copywriting A good copywriter knows which words trigger the feelings that compel people to make decisions. They write with flair, making it easy for people to be drawn into what they are saying about your business, services or products - see professional copywriting, and an example of good copywriting for a Mercedes Dealer, or not-so-good copy for a Used Mercedes dealer.

Directories

Directory Listings You should add your website to as many directories as you can. Check out our free Australian Business Directory page for addresses and information about business directories.

News, Blog and Article index page Deep Linking is the process of linking to a page within your website other than your home page. For example, if I am writing an article, adding to a blog, or something similar about copywriting, rather than linking to the home page (www.justweb.com.au), I would link directly  to the relevant page within my site - in this case it might be http://www.justweb.com.au/newsletter/copywriting.html.

That is what is meant by the term "deep link".

Further, whereas having an incoming link is good, what is even more effective is having an incoming link using relevant anchor text. Read more about "anchor text".

W3C Certainly you should have as many backlinks to your website as you can, but where possible, you should also use deep links. Search engines find this more "natural" as well. It is, after all, part of the original web architecture design. However, some websites, forums, blogs, etc. ban the use of deep linking.

According to the World Wide Web Consortium Technical Architecture Group:
any attempt to forbid the practice of deep linking is based on a misunderstanding of the technology, and threatens to undermine the functioning of the Web as a whole
Not only that, if you don't employ a deep link strategy, you are doing yourself (and your website) a grave disservice!

So the next time you are out there blogging, or adding a comment to another site, or simply exchanging links, remember a "deep link" to a relevant page in your website is going to help with your SEO strategy.

PLEASE NOTE:
This article applies only to linking to website pages YOU own. If you wish to deep link to someone else's website pages, it would be recommended you first seek their permission to avoid any possible legal ramifications.

If you don't have an SEO strategy yet, call justweb™ today and let us show you how we can add value to your website.
